SUMMARY:

Over twenty years experience as a computer programmer, utilizing ASP/JSP, VBScript, VB6, JavaScript, SQL Server 7/2000 Transact-SQL scripting, Powerbuilder 4/5/6, Ansi- SQL, Stored Procedures/Triggers, Visual Interdev 6, Actuate 3, Crystal Reports 7/8/9, Unix Shell scripting, and Pascal. Each position held, demanded an increased knowledge and understanding of computer operations and capabilities. Each new assignment required the ability to learn new tasks, and applications quickly and efficiently without formal training.

EMPLOYMENT/EXPERIENCE:

Feb 04 – Present - Senior Developer, DBA and Network Admin, Mel Fisher's Motivation Inc., Key West, FL

Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Historic Shipwreck Research Database, an application written in ASP/Javascript against a SQL Server database designed to catalog, manage and present historical artifacts recovered from the Nuestra Senora de Atocha, a Spanish galleon, that ran aground near Key West, FL in 1622, by the legendary Mel Fisher, family and crew. Several DTS packages and an FTP program keep the public database up-to-date on a daily basis including new photos and illustrations of artifacts.

Sep 03 – Oct 03 - Data Manager, Odyssey Marine Exploration, Tampa, FL (Assigned to a ship at sea in the Atlantic ocean.)

This short term project allowed for the design of an artifact and deepwater, Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) data collector cataloging database. Utilized Visual Basic 6 to enhance an existing, but untested product that gathered information from several serial ports simultaneously and write records to a tab delimited file which was imported into a Access database to be reported on.

May 02 – May 03 - Senior Consultant, ModisIT, Jacksonville, FL (Assigned to the Mayo Clinic)

Senior programmer/database designer for several in-house, web based, data driven applications. Primary project allows managers to complete employee appraisals on-line. Full administrative facility to completely manage core functions of application as well as reporting for over 3,500 employees in three states. This project was estimated to save over 1 man days per manager per employee. Used several tools during my tenure, such as ASP, Java Script, Visual Basic, stored procedures, SQLServer Transact-SQL Scripting and DTS Packages.

Jun 01 – Apr 02 - Senior Consultant, Compuware, headquartered in Detroit, MI (Assigned to Alltel in Jacksonville, FL)

Senior Programmer/database designer for software designed to allow customers to view their mortgage information. Took newest version of base code, upgraded an existing site for a major client by re-branding and applying custom logic for that client. Projected estimates for this work were 160 hours. It was accomplished in 80 hours, with an estimated savings of $10,000. Used several tools during my tenure, such as ASP/JSP, Java, Java Script, Visual Basic, stored procedures, and SQLServer Transact-SQL Scripting.

Jun 00 – Jun 01 - Manager of Systems Development, Itech21 Inc., Orange Park, FL

Managed the design and development of several diverse projects, including: a web-based health benefit management system, database conversions, data analysis reporting, a self-contained database backup utility, and a phone bill management and reporting system. The health benefit program resulted in a timesaving of over 60% to the HR department for which it was deployed by collecting all employee elections and providing EDI files to the individual insurance companies by reducing HR's attention to individual employees. Used several tools during my tenure, such as ASP/JSP, Java, Java Script, Visual Basic, stored procedures, and SQLServer Transact-SQL Scripting.

Jul 97 – Jun 00 - Senior Developer/Consultant, Digital Fusion [PowerCerv], Orlando, FL (Assigned to Modis Professional Services [Formally Accustaff] in Jacksonville, FL)

Senior Programmer/Database Designer for Modis Professional Services, a $2-billion international personnel firm. Designed and created Web-based business applications including optimizing the data warehouse loading procedures, the corresponding web reporting, the development of an online service to manage employee health benefits, and a client server front-end. Used such tools as ASP, COM/DCOM with IIS, Java Script, Ansi-SQL, Visual Basic, stored procedures, Powerbuilder, Unix shell script and SQR.

Mar 97 - Jul 97 - MIS Manager, AT&T Universal Card Services, Jacksonville, FL, Supporting over 6 separate departments.

Managed the team that designed, and coded the premier client-server application used by five departments to collect data from several sources, merge the information together on a daily basis and provide reports (for team leaders to senior VPs) to manage all facets of daily business. Pioneered the first database-driven, Web-based application used within the company by over 2500 associates, on both Windows and Unix operating systems.
